More About Moreletakloof Nature Reserve
The Moreleta Kloof Nature Reserve in eastern Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa, was part of the farm Garsfontein which was acquired by Jacobus Cornelius Rademeyer in 1859. He had married Cornelia Jacoba Susanna Erasmus on 2 Jul 1837 in George, Eastern Cape.
* This is first and foremost a nationally proclaimed Nature Reserve that is protected and only allows hiking, as we have no other facilities available to handle organised sport, Church gatherings, workshops, or other events or celebrations where bigger groups are involved.
* No mountain biking or cycling allowed. No picnics or braais are permitted within the reserve.
* Unfortunately, no dogs are allowed (even if on a leash) to protect the wild animals and ground birds that are found in the reserve.
* Please do not organise hikes or any events on social media with open invitations where groups just turn up at the reserve; you must apply for permission from Nature Conservation beforehand.
